　　Up to five thousand years ago, China entered the age of civilization when Chinese ancestors took the lead in integrating fire into the development of the ocean and started the history of making sea salt from the sea. Years of development and continuous innovations have composed a new chapter of “Solar Salt ". Most of salt in the world exists in the sea. Sea salt bears a series of dramatic and rough stories and events in the process of its production, marketing and management. Sea salt supports the economic lifelines of successive dynasties. Waves of the sea have refined the high quality of salt crystals; winds and rains have forged the tough and unyielding character of salt workers. The history of the vast sea salt production areas represented by Yancheng, Jiangsu province has been marked by sea salt, and magnificent cities of salt are rising along the coast of China.
